After breakfast leave for a City Tour including the Upper Lake Drive - a place where one could have a bird's eye view of the city below, the Royal Botanical Gardens - one of the best of its kind in Asia with more than 5000 species of different varieties of flora which incidentally was the Headquarters of Lord Louise Mountbatten - the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces during the 2nd World War, a Gem Museum - to see how the valuable gems that you see on a shop shelf are turned out from a raw stone with the back ground history. After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya - "Little England" through the Ramboda Pass surrounded by "Green Carpets"- hills covered with Tea and cascading Water Falls amidst breathtakingly beautiful landscapes En route visit a Tea Factory and a Plantation to witness the manufacturing process of world famous “Ceylon Tea" and to taste a pure unblended cup of factory fresh tea before being sent to the Tea Auctions in Colombo leading to Export. Evening is free for walk /tour around the city - the important places being the Victoria Park, Gregory Lake, Golf Course, Market etc. Nature Lovers could make a visit to see the Lover's Leap Water Falls just outside the city which will involve a little bit of hiking for about 1 hour both ways. After breakfast transfer for about 5 km by vehicle. Then start biking- the route will be through untarred roads and village level undeveloped roads passing through Tile/Brick Kilns, Coir Factories, Coconut /Rubber Estates, Pineapple Plantations, mainly on flat land and occasionally on hilly areas. (Distance about 65 -70 km) Visit the Elephant Orphanage to see the world's largest herd of domestic elephants including babies who are still being fed by bottle thrice a day. Overnight stay at Pinnawala.

Day 3
After breakfast start biking towards Sigiriya. (Distance about 80 - 85 km) Route will be through vast Coconut Estates, Paddy Fields with the vegetation changing gradually from the wet zone to the dry zone, Shifting Cultivation (traditional form of "slash and burn cultivation") along cart tracks, undeveloped trails, a small distance on developed roads. Load as you approach Dambulla but those who are desirous can continue. En route visit the Dambulla Cave Temple considered being the largest painted caves in the world with more than 22,000 sq ft of painted surfaces with many paintings, sculptures, statues of Lord Buddha, his disciples, Kings, Gods etc. Overnight stay at Sigiriya

Day 4
Early morning climb the Rock Fortress of Sigiriya, a World Heritage Site After late breakfast leave for Giritale. The route will be muddy tracks, paved roads, occasional tarred roads, dry zone jungles, Teak Plantations, Paddy Fields .This will be entirely on flat land. Overnight stay at Giritale

Day 5

As the distance is going to be long, they can pack up whenever they desire. Walk into a Spice Garden and take part in a conducted tour to get some knowledge about the frowth and use of spices in the day to day life. After breakfast transfer to Mawanella on the Colombo - Kandy main highway. Start trekking to the "Saradiel Rock" - This is a medium size mountain on top of which you have a point from which you can see the surrounding area and the main road for a long distance. Saradiel , local version of Robin Hood used to see the approaching Horse carriages during the 19th century which were taking the mail and the money to plantation areas in up country from this point and used to loot them as they approached and distribute the money to the poor people. He was later killed by the Police and there is a monument closer to this place. In the evening either visit the Elephant Orphanage to see the largest herd of domestic elephants which comprises of babies who are being fed by bottle OR engage in a hike crossing the river , through the villages passing Rubber Plantations , Paddy Fields , Coconut Plantations , Home Gardens etc. Overnight stay at Pinnawala

Day 3
After breakfast leave for Kitulgala. En route visit the Salgala Monastic Complex - located in a low country patch of rain forest to see the meditating monks – but not to disturb them or engage in conversations unless invited by them. Proceed to Kitulgala - became famous as it was the location for David Lean's Academy Award winning film "Bridge on the River Kwai" Take part in a session of White Water River Rafting along the Kelani River, 2nd longest in the island. Day 4
After breakfast visit the "Belilena" - Pre historic cave where historical evidence has been found and confirmed of the earliest human beings that lived in this island dating back to 30,000 years. Undertake a transfer by catamaran rafts to the other side of the river to take part in an interesting hike through paddy fields , a Jungle and remote villages during which we will see Toddy Tapping . (Toddy is an alcoholic beverage extracted from the sap of the coconut flower which if left to mature will turn out to be Vinegar and go on to give us Juggery - a sweetner) Enjoy a lunch prepared by a local family in the Kamatha (The special place at the edge of the Paddy Fields lefty for the stocking and subsequent threshing of the paddy) Overnight stay at Kitulgala

Day 5
After breakfast return to the main road using a Suspension bridge to cross the river Proceed to Laxapana Engage in a hike on the foothills of the Seven Virgins Mountain Range where some years back an Icelandic Airliner from Indonesia crashed with Moslem devotees returning after pilgrimage to Mecca killing all on board in the vicinity of the Laxapana Water Falls which provides water to one of Sri Lanka's premier hydral reservoirs. Enjoy seeing the village ladies preparing the Juggery out of Toddy in their homes as a cottage industry. Transfer to the base of the Adam's Peak Overnight stay at Dalhousie

Day 6

Deep down in the south , in the dry zone in close proximity to the elephant infested jungles lies the village hamlet of Uva Kuda Oya .Travelling a short distance after turning off from the Wellawaya - Tissamaharama Highway to the interior , we reach the Farm Land within which is located the Cottage Site. A small scale village tank and a long line of Paddy Fields forms one boundary for this land situated within the arid zone of Sri Lanka. Overnight stay at Kuda Oya

Day 9
After breakfast leave for Ratnapura - City of Gems En route undertake a Jeep Safari of the Uda Walawe National Park mainly to see wild elephants and the Elephant Transit Home where babies are being looked after to be subsequently sent back in to the jungles .This is a great effort for conservation of this giant species. Also visit the Sankapala Ancient Buddhist Temple, first constructed in memory of Therapuththabhaya , one of the ten giants of the Great King - Dutugemunu in the Anuradhapura period and the Maha Saman Devalaya , the Temple devoted to God Saman which is supposed to be the Guardian God for this area including the Holy Mountain - Adam's Peak. In Ratnapura visit the places of interest of the Gem Industry in Sri Lanka including Gem Mines to get an insight in to this important segment of the local economy.. Overnight stay at Ratnapura

Day 10
